There are many varied activities to make your stay in
Lochcarron as active or serene as you choose.
Whether you prefer a gentle stroll or a more strenuous day's hill
walking, there is a wide a variety of walks that allow you to view
the beauty of the area.
Fishing, sailing, kayaking and canoeing, along with opportunities
for photography and birdwatching, are all popular in the region.
The Loch is tidal and at low tide you can walk out on the
shingle for almost a quarter of a mile.

| The bird life in the area is prolific and varied.
Apart from the usual gulls, there are oyster catchers, herons,
curlews, twites and ducks, and in the garden, chaffinches, haw
finches, tits, siskins, sparrows, thrushes, blackbirds and the
occasional waxwing. There is also the Lochcarron golf course,
located one mile east of Lochcarron village by the A896. This
lochside course combines parkland and shore, and has a very
interesting 2nd hole. Although a short course of just 9 holes and
1750 yards, great accuracy is required. The views from the
course are quite spectacular, so don't forget your camera!
